Stewart Lee - "Leave as you arrived, only more so"

When discussing fellow comedian Roy 'Chubby' Brown during his BBC2 show, Stewart Lee came out with an interesting line about how Brown's often racist and sexist comedy act essentially panders to and reinforces the beliefs of the audience that comes to his shows. He says that his act should be called an "Evening of certainties" with the strapline "leave as you arrived, only more so".
Whilst studying the representation of Irish society through documentary photography, there can sometimes be a tendency to play up to the predominant view of Irishness is, similar to what I discussed about the work in "Vanishing Ireland" book.
The fact that my project will feature in a newspaper means that it is important for me to reflect aspects of life in Donegal in a way that somehow expands the audience's viewpoint and not present it in a way that doesn't reinforce stereotypes of Irish life.
I don't believe that my project with realistically alter people's perceptions drastically in any way but I suppose that at the very least, I should aim for the audience not to leave as they arrived.
